I think I’ve been neglecting the “family life” portion of the blog. In an effort to make amends, I present for you a few pictures from last weekend’s CHEO Teddy Bear Picnic.

  1. I’ve been getting some visitors recently who have stumbled across this post looking for information on the 2008 edition.

If you’re one of these people, the next CHEO Teddy Bear Picnic is on Saturday, July 5 on the grounds of Rideau Hall. The event starts at 8:00 am. If you haven’t been, you have to go – it’s a great time for families.

You can get more information on parking and transportation by visiting http://www.cheofoundation.com/teddy-bear-picnic.cfm?pageID=specialEventsLottories

  2. There is very little info provided by that link. What does a typical visit cost? What ages is it appropriate for? How often does the “Park & Ride” shuttle run and what is the cost?
From the little info available it appears suitable only for those under 5 years old and is mostly attended by those with links to cheo. Any additional information is most welcome.

  3. 1. As I recall, the event is largely free. There are small fees for things like the pancake breakfast and concessions.

    2. The park and ride shuttle is free. I have no idea how often they run.

    3. The event is attended by lots of people who have no connection whatsoever to CHEO. It’s very popular, so I would encourage people to arrive earlier rather than later.

    4. I would imagine kids up to 8 or 9 would have an enjoyable time on some of the rides.
