Brushes with Greatness

I was star-struck as I was in close proximity to a couple of big politicos this week.First, I was enjoying a delightful lunch in Le Cafe on Wednesday with Maurizio when he pointed out the Right Honourable Jean Chretien was sitting at the table beside us. Yes, the little guy from Shawinigan was sitting just 5 feet away – I think he may have even looked at me.It got even better yesterday when I shared an elevator ride with the former Environment Minister, the well-coiffed Rona Ambrose. My boss chatted her up a bit as his wife works on the climate change file, so he had a natural opening. For those who are interested, her hair was quite nice, although not as shiny as I’ve seen it on television. She was also quite petite – I guess the camera really does add 10 pounds.Maybe next week I’ll run into Loyola Hearn (Minister of Fisheries and Oceans), or if I’m really lucky, Monte Solberg (Minister of Human Resources and Social Development).Who says living in Ottawa isn’t exciting…
